Job Title:State Field Coordinator

Position Description:
The State Field Coordinator will coordinate project pre-implementation, implementation, and post implementation activities in the state. This role is instrumental in ensuring that the project is carried out in an accountable manner, with the provision of technical support to the state and LGA teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of project activities with the polio immunization activities. The State Field Coordinator will provide oversight functions across all the implementing LGAs in the state ensuring project activities are carried out within approved timelines
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the national project team in the conduct of state and LGA level advocacy and engagement meetings
- Roles will include but are not limited to
- Coordinates project activities at the state and LGA levels
- Work under the AFENET State Team Lead and provide regular updates on the program activities
- Work in synergy with other AFENET projects in the State
- Collaborate with the government and other implementing partners in the state for implementation
- of Azithromycin mass drug administration, ensuring integration into polio immunization activities
- Provide technical support in the conduct of integrated microplanning and validation processes.
- Coordinate the demand creation and community engagement strategies at the state and LGA levels
- Work with state and LGA teams on the identification, training, deployment and performance management of implementation team for Azithromycin mass drug administration
- Work with the state and LGA teams in the development of the team’s daily implementation plan
- Provide routine and periodic implementation feedback to the national project team
- Provide implementation updates at state daily evening review meetings and follow up on identified actions
- Conduct supportive supervisory field visits across the implementing LGAs in the state to ensure quality in activity implementation
- Support the Supply Chain Officer in the coordination of supply chain management activities including reverse logistics, working closely with the State Polio Program team
- Provide oversight functions to project officers at the LGA levels as well as the contracted 3 PL team
- Represent AFENET in SARMAAN II Consortium partners meetings and other relevant meetings at state level
- Facilitate the conduct of post-implementation review meetings
- Perform other duties as may be required/assigned by the supervisor
Qualification and work experience required:
- Masters’s degree in public health or a related field. MPH in field epidemiology practice will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience as a project coordinator, with a minimum of 5 years of public health experience.
- Experience in leading projects from initiation to completion.
- Proficiency in the use of epidemiological tools and software
Required skills and competencies:
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including government, development partners and
- implementing partners in the health sector
- Ability to identify and flag problems in a dynamic project environment.
- Strong management, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail in project planning and execution.
- Ability to communicate fluently in Hausa and English language
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office tools
Duration and Timeline
This position is a 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension based on project needs, performance and availability of funding for the project. The expected start date is 01 March 2026.
