Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide strategic financial insights to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, integrity, and leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and internal policies
• Handle timely remittance of statutory deductions including PAYE, VAT, WHT, and pension contributions
• Liaise with relevant tax authorities and pension administrators to ensure full compliance
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and cost control measures
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
• Provide financial analysis and reports to support management decision-making
• Strengthen internal controls and improve financial systems and processes
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Accounting,
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
• 5–8 years’ relevant experience, preferably in healthcare or a structured organization
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, pension regulations, and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
