The spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, has said that a man walked into the police headquarters seeking advice on whether it is legal to offer his wife N2 million to consent to his second marriage. The PPRO who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Saturday, October 18 said the man had complained that his wife has refused to allow him to marry a second wife. A man has come to Bompai (Police headquarters) saying his wife refused to allow him to marry a second wife. He is inquiring whether it is legal to offer her N2 million to consent to the marriage. He was asking if it is against the law or not, the police spokesman wrote.
