Tuesday was an important day for golf everywhere.
TGR Foundation and Liberty National Foundation announced a partnership between them that creates an endowment for the Earl Woods Scholar Program which supports students from under-resourced communities in the New York and New Jersey area.
Tiger Woods is obviously at the center of this endeavor and offered some excitement about it in a quote that is exclusive to SB Nation.
“I am excited about this partnership with the Liberty National Foundation,” said Tiger Woods, founder of TGRFoundation.
“The support from the Fireman family and the club over the years has been incredible. We’re grateful for their investment in our scholar program, honoring my father’s legacy and helping more kids gain the support needed to chase their dreams.”
The Fireman family includes Liberty National Co-Founder Dan Fireman. He and TGR Foundation CEO Cyndi Court spoke to SB Nation about this movement and stressed the importance of continuing to give back and using golf as a mechanism for that.
Liberty National embodies these qualities, some that our country was built upon at its origin.

The first cohort of Liberty National Scholars includes five students who are expected to graduate in 2029. Connecting them with resources to help this happen and using the game we all love to do so is noble to say the least. Utilizing the name of Tiger Woods and ensuring things are up to that standard is a focus for all involved.
