GoGreen Environmental Health Sustainability
Initiatives is a youth-led, non-profit organization
working to address critical environmental, public
health, and development challenges in vulnerable
and conflict-affected communities across Benue
State and Nigeria. Our work focuses on peace and
conflict management, agriculture and food
security, climate change adaptation and
resilience, and youth empowerment.
Through community-driven and evidence-based programming, GoGreen partners with
government institutions, donors, and local
stakeholders to implement sustainable
interventions that strengthen resilience, improve public health outcomes, and promote inclusive development.

1. Associate Director, Programs

Role purpose: Provide strategic leadership and
operational management for the organization’s
program portfolio, ensuring high-quality design,
delivery, monitoring and learning across projects.
Support the Director in strategy development,
partnership cultivation and organizational
planning.

Key responsibilities:

i. Lead program strategy development and
implementation to align with
organizational goals and donor
requirements.
ii. Oversee portfolio performance: quality
assurance, risk management, budgets,
timelines, compliance.
iii. Provide technical guidance across
thematic areas (e.g. peace and conflict
management, agriculture and food
security, climate change
adaptation/mitigation, and youth
empowerment) and ensure integration of
cross-cutting issues (gender, inclusion,
M&E, safeguarding).
iv. Lead proposal development, donor
relations, contract negotiations and
reporting coordination for major grants.
v. Mentor and manage program staff;
strengthen team capacity through
coaching and training.

vi. Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation and
learning (MEL) practices promote
evidence-based adaptations.
vii. Represent the organization to partners,
government, donors and networks; build
strategic partnerships.
viii. Contribute to organizational leadership:
annual planning, budgeting and resource
mobilization.

Qualifications & experience

  Advanced degree in relevant field
(Development, Public Policy,
Environmental Science, Climate,
Business).
  8–10+ years’ program management
experience in international
development/nonprofit settings; at least
4–6 years in a senior/leadership role.
Demonstrated success managing multi-
donor portfolios and large budgets.
Strong experience with proposal
development and donor compliance (e.g.,
DFID/UK, EU, USAID, GEF, private
foundations).
  Proven leadership, people management
and stakeholder engagement skills.

o Excellent written and oral

2. Senior Program Manager

Role purpose: The Senior Program Manager
provides high-level leadership, coordination, and technical oversight for the design,
implementation, and performance of multiple
donor-funded programmes. The role ensures that all projects are delivered in line with approved proposals, donor compliance requirements
(UNDP, UK Aid, EU), safeguarding standards,
and GoGreen’s strategic objectives, while
achieving measurable and sustainable results for target communities

Key responsibilities

Lead the planning, coordination, and
delivery of multi-sectoral programmes
across climate change, environmental
health, WASH, food security, youth
empowerment, peacebuilding, and
gender equality.
Translate organizational strategy and
donor agreements into actionable
workplans, budgets, and implementation
schedules.
Provide technical leadership to
programme teams to ensure quality,
innovation, and coherence across
projects.
Ensure full compliance with donor rules,
contractual obligations, safeguarding
requirements, and reporting timelines.
Lead programme-level risk management,
including fiduciary, safeguarding,
reputational, and operational risks.
Coordinate donor audits, spot checks,
and capacity assessments in
collaboration with finance and
compliance teams.
Ensure safeguarding, PSEA, child
protection, and Code of Conduct policies
are fully integrated into programme
implementation.
Lead coordination with government
ministries, donors, UN agencies, INGOs,
CSOs, and community leaders..

Ensure compliance with donor rules,
organizational policies and procurement
procedures.
Coordinate MEL activities at project
level; compile inputs for donor reports
and internal reviews.
Identify and mitigate project risks;
maintain risk and issues logs.
Support proposal development and
budgeting for project expansions or new
initiatives.
  Mentor junior staff and support capacity-
building of partners.

Qualifications & experience

  Master’s degree in development studies,
Public Policy, Environmental Sciences,
Public Health, Social Sciences, or a
related field.
  Minimum of 7–10 years’ progressive
experience in programme management
within the NGO, development, or
humanitarian sector.
  At least 3–5 years’ experience managing
large, multi-donor-funded programmes
(UNDP, FCDO/UK Aid, EU strongly
preferred).
Demonstrated experience in team
leadership, donor compliance, and
multi-sector programming.

Skills & competencies

  Strong understanding of UNDP, UK
Aid, and EU donor compliance
frameworks
  Proven expertise in Results-Based
Management (RBM) and MEAL
systems
  Excellent leadership, coordination, and
people management skills

3. Program Manager

Job purpose: Manage day-to-day
implementation of assigned projects, ensuring
timely delivery, quality, compliance and effective partner coordination.

Key responsibilities

4. Senior Program Officer

Job Purpose
Supports technical implementation,
coordination, and supervision of project
activities at community level while ensuring
adherence to donor standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate community-level
implementation in line with Do No Harm
principles
• Support data collection, activity
documentation, and reporting
• Supervise Program Officers and field
assistants
• Promote gender-sensitive and conflict-
sensitive approaches
• Support proposal development and

• Bachelor’s degree in development
studies, Public Policy, Environmental
Sciences, Public Health, Social Sciences,
or a related field.
• 4–5 years’ NGO experience, preferably
on donor-funded projects

5. Internal Auditor / Compliance Officer

Job Purpose:
Provide independent assurance and advisory
services to strengthen GoGreen’s governance,
internal controls, risk management, and donor
and statutory compliance.
Key responsibilities
o Develop and implement a risk-based
annual internal audit plan covering
finance, procurement, HR, programs and
compliance.
o Conduct audits (desk and field), special
investigations and compliance reviews;
produce clear, actionable reports.
o Track remediation of audit findings and
maintain management issues register.
o Monitor adherence to donor agreements,
organizational policies (safeguarding,
anti-fraud/anti-corruption) and statutory
requirements.
o Support external audits and donor
reviews; prepare documentation and
coordinate responses.
o Deliver training on internal controls,
fraud awareness and record-keeping.

Qualifications & experience

o Bachelor’s degree in accounting,
Finance, Audit or related field.
Professional certification preferred
(CPA/ACCA/CIA/CISA).
o Minimum 3–6 years’ internal
audit/compliance experience;
NGO/donor-funded program experience
strongly preferred.
o Knowledge of donor compliance
requirements (e.g., USAID, FCDO, EU,
UN).

Skills & competencies

o Strong analytical, investigatory and
report-writing skills.
o High integrity, confidentiality and
professional independence.
o Familiarity with accounting systems,
audit software and data analytics is
desirable.

6. Program Officer, Climate Change

Job purpose:
Provide technical leadership and coordination on climate change projects, supporting design,
implementation, monitoring and knowledge-
sharing of climate adaptation/mitigation
activities.

Key responsibilities

o Provide technical input into climate-
related project design, proposals and
work plans.
o Oversee technical implementation of
climate activities (e.g., vulnerability
assessments, adaptation planning, low-
emission technologies, community-
based resilience).
o Lead technical training and capacity-
building for staff, partners and
beneficiaries.
o Support MEL: develop indicators, collect
and analyze data, and synthesize lessons
and best practices.
o Produce technical outputs: guidance
notes, case studies, policy briefs and
donor-ready reports.
o Represent the organization in sector
working groups, research collaborations
and policy dialogues.
o Support resource mobilization for
climate initiatives.

Qualifications & experience

o Bachelor’s degree in climate change,
environmental management, natural
resources, or related field.
o 3–5 years’ experience in climate change
projects, with technical expertise in
adaptation/mitigation/resilience
programming.
o Proven track record in developing
technical guidance and liaising with
researchers, government and
communities.

o Strong technical knowledge of climate
change concepts, tools and methods.
o Excellent analytical and report-writing
skills.
o Ability to translate technical information
for non-technical audiences.
o Proficiency in GIS, climate data tools or
carbon accounting (desirable).

7. Program Assistant

Job purpose: Provide administrative and
operational support to program staff to ensure
smooth implementation of project activities.

Key responsibilities

o Provide logistical and administrative
support: meeting organization, travel
arrangements, purchases and filing.
o Assist in preparing documents,
compiling data and drafting parts of
reports.
o Maintain project files, databases and
contact lists.
o Support field activity coordination,
including liaison with partners and
communities.
o Assist in arranging trainings, workshops
and events.

✓ Process routine financial documents
(petty cash, expense claims) in
coordination with finance.

Qualifications & experience

o Diploma or bachelor’s degree in
development studies or related field.
o 1–3 years’ relevant administrative or
program support experience.

Skills & competencies

o Strong organizational skills and attention
to detail.
o Good written and verbal communication.
o Proficiency with MS Office and database
tools.
o Reliable, flexible and able to work under
pressure.

8. Finance Assistant

Job purpose: Support daily financial operations, maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with organisational and donor accounting procedures.

Key responsibilities

o Process invoices, payments, petty cash
and staff expense claims; prepare
payment vouchers.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date
accounting records in the finance system.
o Reconcile bank accounts on a regular
basis.
o Assist in budget tracking and preparation
of monthly financial reports.
o Support audits and donor compliance
checks by preparing required documentation.
o Maintain fixed asset register and
procurement records.
o Liaise with program teams to ensure
timely submission of financial
documentation.

Qualifications & experience

o Diploma or bachelor’s degree in
accounting, finance or related discipline.
o 2–4 years’ experience in
bookkeeping/accounting in NGOs or
private sector.
o Familiarity with accounting software
(e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
preferred.

o Knowledge of accounting principles and
financial controls.
o Integrity and confidentiality.
o Good communication skills and ability to
meet deadlines.

9. Procurement Assistant

Role Purpose: The Procurement Assistant
supports the efficient and compliant
procurement of goods, works, and services
required for GoGreen’s donor-funded
programmes. The role ensures adherence to
organizational and donor procurement
policies while promoting transparency,
accountability, and value for money.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in processing purchase requests
and preparing procurement
documentation.
• Support vendor sourcing, quotation
collection, and bid evaluation processes.
• Track procurement timelines and follow
up on pending requests.
• Maintain accurate procurement records
and filing systems.
• Ensure all procurement documents meet
donor audit requirements.
• Coordinate with program and finance
teams to ensure timely procurement
delivery.

• Support contract follow-up and delivery
verification.
• Ensure compliance with donor
procurement thresholds and procedures.
• Uphold anti-fraud, conflict of interest,
and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in relevant
field
• 2–3 years’ experience in procurement or
logistics
• NGO or donor-funded project experience
preferred

10. Driver

Job purpose: Provide safe, reliable transport for
staff, equipment and visitors; maintain
organizational vehicles in good condition and
comply with transport policies.

Key responsibilities

o Safely drive organization vehicles for
official travel, field visits and errands.
o Maintain vehicles: regular checks,
cleaning, minor maintenance
coordination with mechanics.
o Keep driving logs, fuel records and
vehicle maintenance records up to date.
o Ensure timely pick-up/drop-off and assist
with loading/unloading of equipment.
o Adhere to traffic rules, organizational
safety and security procedures.

Assist with other operations support
tasks as required (e.g., deliveries).
Qualifications & experience
o Valid driver’s license for the required
vehicle classes; clean driving record.
o 3+ years’ professional driving
experience; experience driving in
rural/field conditions an advantage.
o Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.

o Reliable, punctual and professional

navigation tools.
